This section contains a selection of poems and stories that teachers, drama practitioners, and youth theatre directors might find useful. The poems are suitable for a range of ages and include three narrative poems which have proved useful for both drama and literacy classes. I have also made suggestions for other poems which I have found to be great resources when creating drama lessons.
The stories in this section include traditional stories, stories from other times, stories from other cultures, parables, legends and fables. Some of these will already be familiar to teachers and students. Other websites will provide a huge range of poems and stories but these are all resources that have been hand selected because they have been used successfully in lessons.
Many of the resources in this section have provided the stimulus for interesting discussions and drama lessons, or have been used to create drama schemes of work, lesson plans and play scripts which can be found in our e-shop – these are noted below the relevant poems or stories.
