Bid to host the Olympics

Children explore what makes a great Olympic ceremony and create an opening ceremony that best reflects and celebrates their own community, including characters, services, special places, and so on.

Visit the first Olympics
Under the guidance of an Olympian character, children travel back in time and land on Mount Olympus to discover how it all began, what games were included, and then stage their own version of the original Olympics.
Best for KS1 / lower KS2
Learn how the Olympics made history
A dramatic exploration of the individuals, events and issues that surrounded Jesse Owens' controversial achievement of winning four gold medals at the 1936 Olympics.

Bring the Olympic motto to life
Using the Olympic motto - 'Faster, Higher, Stronger' - as a starting point, children create movement motifs based on Olympic events, or emotions connected to competition and achievement.
